In-car services are different technologies that are installed or provided within a vehicle. These services are mainly designed to make the user experience more comfortable, but are not essential for driving.
Such services can include:
- Infotainment (e.g., radio player, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, in-car Wi-Fi network, mobile app integration, and multimedia streaming)
- Location functionalities (e.g., GPS, stolen vehicle tracking, and remote car locator)
- Safety services (e.g., eCall, bCall, roadside assistance, rearview camera, and dash camera)
In car rental, some in-car services are included in the rental price and some (e.g., GPS) are optional extras that the renter can request, usually, for an additional fee.
