Telemetry refers to the collection of information from distant or remote objects and the transmission of that data to a receiving system. In transportation, telemetry is used to gather information about a driver’s performance or the condition of a vehicle. Data from in-vehicle sensors is collected and transmitted for analysis. Companies use telemetry for driver behaviour monitoring, to optimise fleet operations and to predict maintenance needs.
